San Francisco Foundation grant

Tri-City Homeless Coalition is pleased to announce the awarding of a grant from The San Francisco Foundation in the amount of $30,000 in “Core Operating” support for the calendar year 2007-08.

“Core Operating” support is especially critical in this era of shrinking funding. It allows the agency to pay for those essential areas such as PG&E, Alameda County Water, phone bills and other administrative-type expenses. Although Tri-City Homeless Coalition was recently honored by Charity Navigator with a 4-star rating, partially based on funding efficiency, (only 11.7% is spent on administrative costs), these costs must still be met. According to Louis Chicoine, Executive Director, “This grant [from The San Francisco Foundation] is very much appreciated and will be very helpful. The San Francisco Foundation has a history of supporting the agency and we very much appreciate this collaboration to help those we serve.”
