Established in 1989, Abode Services' mission is to end homelessness by assisting low-income, un-housed people to secure stable, supportive housing; and to be advocates for the removal of the causes of homelessness in Alameda County, California.
We offer eleven housing programs linked to support services to assist homeless families and individuals in establishing stability and independence. Housing options include emergency shelter programs, rental subsidies, transitional housing and permanent supportive housing. Support services consist of intensive case management, job counseling and placement referrals, life skills training, money management, parenting classes, children's programs, benefits acquisition, primary and mental health care services, and individual and group substance recovery counseling. Specifically, our programs include:
- Sunrise Village shelter and Winter Relief Program – Emergency shelter/food plus intensive case management.
- Project Independence – Homeless prevention program for youth leaving the Alameda County foster care system includes subsidized housing and comprehensive services.
- HOPE Mobile Health Clinic – Direct medical and support services including assistance finding permanent supportive housing.
