Volunteer
Our volunteers help maintain a supportive and compassionate environment. They are essential to reducing the isolation many of our clients experience.
Each month more than 300 volunteers contribute over 3,000 volunteer hours. Forty service groups from local churches, businesses, and groups participate. The Meals Program is entirely staffed and supported by volunteers who provide more than 120 meals per day. Medical volunteers provide free health care services for our clients through Rotacare, a medical clinic supported by the Fremont Rotary and Tri-City Health Clinic.
Ways individuals and groups can volunteer:
- Children's Program: Sunrise Village, Monday -Thursday, 7-8pm
- Winter Relief (November through April): Currently accepting volunteer sign-ups for November '08.
- Assist with the deliveries and pick-ups (as needed, on call)
- Garden and help maintain the building
- Holiday volunteers, please call to be placed on help list.
- Assist at the front desk/reception area
- Light maintenance
- Assist with fundraising and special events
- Lawyers/ Paralegals assist residents with legal questions (times and dates to be arranged)
- Computer Tech Support
- Career Counseling: Volunteers with HR experience are needed to assist residents with resume and interview skills.
- Meal preparation at Sunrise Village
- Hair Stylists needed to provide haircuts to Sunrise Village residents.
- Nurses (RN) to read test results and answer health questions.
- Tutoring
- Special Skills/ Talents: We welcome those willing to share their special skills/ talents. Examples include music lessons, arts and crafts classes, and make-up lessons. Please contact us with your ideas!
